CAN-Bus E-Bike
Reading live data straight from an e-bike's CANopen bus. Own PCB, designed and brought up with an ESP32, from schematic to running firmware.
The problem
Motor and battery of an e-bike talk over CANopen, but the data stays locked inside the bike.
What I built
- An own PCB with an ESP32 WROOM and an SN65HVD230 CAN transceiver, SMD-soldered by hand.
- Firmware in C++ with the ACAN-ESP32 library, CAN at 250 kbps.
- Handling of standard and extended frames, read out live.
